ABC: Both Sides Not "Equally Accountable"
By Ed Driscoll · October 8, 2004 05:25 PM · Oh, That Liberal Media!
This Drudge post about ABC News' Political Director Mark Halperin has the potential to be a Rathergate-style bombshell.
Update: After the Halperin memo, Evan Thomas of Newsweek's quip about the media and Kerry back in July and this and this and what these folks have said, is there anybody left who thinks that media isn't slanted to the left?
Oh yes, there is, of course: really hard core lefties think it's too conservative. But as Jonah Goldberg wrote a few years ago:
Look, it's hardly surprising that Noam Chomsky, Cornel West, Susan Sontag, Stanley Fish, and the rest of that crowd think the liberal media is too conservative. After all, they think avowed liberals are too conservative. If you consider Arthur Schlesinger Jr., Doris Kearns Goodwin, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, The New Republic, or any other liberal icons to be too conservative (or racist, misogynist, whatever), why wouldn't you think the journalists who worship these people to be too conservative too?A few months ago a blogger wrote:
"If you find yourself arguing that the major news media do not lean liberal, then you almost certainly have identified yourself as being to the left of the mainstream news media and well to the left of the rest of your fellow Americans.Over to you, Al!

What They're Saying
"Just this week, the McCain camp released an ad that looked astonishingly similar to a parody ad created by blogger Ed Driscoll, which combined Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's famous '3 AM' ad with a second segment telling viewers that Mr. McCain also could be relied upon to respond to a crisis situation." --The Washington Times, September 5, 2008
